TartBurners.com was started in 2002 as the "Tart Burner Superstore". Since that time our site has grown every year and we now have over 5000 items across several categories of products stocked to ship from our warehouse.

Everything we have for sale is on this web site. We do not have a printed catalog, as our products change daily. We are an online store and not a manufacturer and we cannot direct you to retail stores that carry the items that we have on our site. We do not manufacture the products that we sell.

Order Confirmations
When you place an order on our site, you should receive an automatic confirming email from our web server with an order number. You should also receive another one when your order ships. Please make sure that you have given us the correct email address and that you can accept emails from sales@tartburners.com and potpourriburners@pacbell.net.

We strongly encourage you to check the initial confirmation to make sure you have ordered the correct items, and entered the correct addresses and shipping method, and email us back quickly if you have made any errors so we may correct your order before shipping. Please mark this order number down and please refer to it in any correspondence with us about your order. It will help us to locate the order and help us to serve you better.

We do not make any changes to customer orders. The information the customer enters generates the warehouse "picking slip" and our shipping software shipping address. If any address or product ordered is incorrect, it is because the information was entered incorrectly by the customer, not because we changed it. That is why we ask that customers check the on-screen and initial email confirmations carefully and notify us promptly of any errors. Once a package ships, it is impossible to change the products and any change of address will incur a $10 "Delivery Intercept" fee with UPS that we pass on to the customer.

We ship in the United States via UPS and USPS to the 48 states, and USPS to AK, HI, military PO Boxes and other territories.

Return Policy
We want you to be satisfied with your order. If, for any reason you are dissatisfied, please contact us and, if possible, we will try to make it right. In most cases, we will replace your item or refund your money.

More specifically, our return policy is as follows:

If an item is defective or broken or we shipped you an incorrect item, we will replace it or offer you a credit. If we need the item back, we will pay for the return shipping. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN ANY DEFECTIVE ITEM AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE WITHOUT OBTAINING AN RA NUMBER FROM US FIRST. WE DO NOT REFUND RETURN SHIPPING UNLESS AUTHORIZED IN ADVANCE.

If you simply would like to return an item, we refund the merchandise cost (not shipping cost) for any unused items returned in good condition with the original packaging within 30 days of the date you received your order. We refund to the credit card originally used to make the purchase. We do not pay for return shipping. Items on clearance sale are non-returnable. Items that are discounted 5% to 10% are returnable.

Please make sure to pack the items well so they do not break in transit. We are not responsible for items broken in return transit and will only issue refunds for items that arrive to us in new condition. Please also keep in mind that broken items may also ruin items that are not broken by spilling wax or broken glass on them.

We only accept returns for purchases made from www.tartburners.com, so we will need the order number or the purchaser's name to verify products were purchased from us and to refund the appropriate credit card. Please enclose this information in the box.

We do not make "exchanges." If you would like to return an item and receive a different item, you may return the item and place a new order for the item you would like to purchase.

Orders for which delivery is refused are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee plus any return freight charges that UPS bills to our company. In addition to the re-stocking fee and the UPS return freight charge, orders that are refused that shipped with free shipping will be subject to a $10.95 freight charge.

We strongly urge customers to review their orders on the "Order Review" page of the checkout process before placing them and to review email order confirmations, as we are not responsible for items ordered in error.

As every person's sense of smell and fragrance preference is different, we cannot guarantee that customers will like fragrance products ordered.

We understand that our return policy is somewhat strict, so please be absolutely sure that you have ordered the correct item before purchasing.


What counts as an order?
Each order shipped to a specific location counts as one order. Item quantity discounts, coupon volume discounts and free shipping minimums cannot be met by combining orders going to different shipping locations. If this sounds like a lot of unnecessary legalese, it is because we had someone wanting to send one item to each of two different shipping locations arguing with us that it was all one order and she therefore had met the minimums. This person told us it did not specify otherwise on the site. Now it does.

Other Information
We do not offer rain checks. Sales are limited to the stock on hand.

A tax of 8.5% will be added to orders shipping within California. All orders shipping outside of California are not taxed.

We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Card credit card and debit cards. We also accept PayPal.

Suggestions For Our Customers
Our company tries very hard to create a very positive shopping experience. We think our site is well organized and easy to navigate. We have the highest rating for customer service from Yahoo! and we ship over 99% of orders correctly and completely. Yet it really is a two-way street and we need your help to make your experience the best it can be. We suggest the following:

1. Please make sure you can receive emails from tartburnersandmore@gmail.com and sales@tartburners.com. Otherwise spam filters and other technologies may block your order confirmnations, shipping confirmations, or replies to questions.

2. Please make sure to read descriptions of products carefully. We receive very few returns, but the majority of them could have been avoided if the customer read the description of the item and checked his or her shopping cart before ordering, and email confirmation after ordering. For example, an "Oval Shade" is oval; it is not round and does not fit a round candle. Similarly, a "Tart Adapter for Candle Warmer" is just that; it is not a candle warmer. A "Candle Cachepot" is a decorative jar holder; nowhere in its product description does it ever mention warming the candle. We do not substitute or change your order. Whatever is on your screen and email confirmations is what you ordered.

2. Please make sure to check the UPS shipping time in transit map if you are in a hurry for an order. The few customers who do not give us "excellent" ratings for customer service say we are slow in shipping. The fact is we are very fast shippers. Virtually every order ships the same business day or the next one. But we are in California and UPS takes a week to get to most of the country from here. So if you order on a Friday afternoon, the order ships on Monday and then takes another week to get to you. The entire process is 10 days, but not due to us being slow in shipping. If there is a UPS holiday in between such as Thanksgiving or Memorial Day, it can take longer. UPS also does not deliver our shipments on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

4. Please review orders on the "Order Review" page of the checkout process and the automatic email confirmations. This gives the customer one more chance to make sure the entire order is correct, including billing and shipping addresses, shipping method and products ordered.
